Local Attractions

Though small, Tilburg is a very fun city to explore! If you have time, we suggest the following activities:

  • Spoorpark. If you want to relax or have a little walk you can visit Spoorpark. You can buy drinks and food at a café in the central, or bring your own snacks for a picnic. If you are not afraid of heights, you can also choose to climb the Kempentoren in the center of the park. With a height of 37 meters a beautiful view over Tilburg is guaranteed!
  • Textiel Museum/Textile Museum. Housed in an old textile factory, the museum offers permanent and temporary exhibitions highlighting the evolution of textile-based art. Tickets are available for €14,50,-.
  • De Pont Museum. The De Pont Museum is the place to go if you like contemporary art. Housed in an old wool spinning mill, history and modernity are mixed together. At the moment, an exhibition by Laure Prouvost is on display in addition to the permanent collection. Tickets cost €16 and students can buy a ticket for €9.50.
  • Doloris Meta Maze. In case you are looking for an experience you won’t forget, go here! It is a maze that stimulates all your senses, making the experience like nothing else. After you find the exit, you can enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar.
  • Cincecitta. Located right in the city center, our local arthouse movie theater shows both the classics and new blockbusters. The food is pretty tasty too! Tickets are available for around €13,-.
  • La Trappe Brewery. If you like beer and you’re curious about how some of Holland’s tastiest beers are made, be sure to visit the La Trappe Brewery. The brewery is located slightly outside the city, but from Tilburg Central Station you can get there by bus in about 20 minutes. Take bus 141 towards ‘Best’ and get off at ‘Moergestel, Abdij Koningshoeven’. From there it is only a 2-minute walk. A guided tour, including beer costs €17,50.
  • Efteling. If you have a full day at your disposal, you can also go to the Efteling. The Efteling is the fifth largest amusement park in Europe and is known as the Disneyland of the Netherlands. From Tilburg Central Station buses run every few minutes. Take bus 801, generally leaving from platform B. A single trip costs just over €3,- and takes about 20 minutes. Tickets to the Efteling cost €51,-. You can buy them online or on the spot.
